(SAFE) and (UNDP) replace dilapidated tents with Khan Yunis anchors

In an effort to provide safe shelter that ensures the dignity of displaced people and protects them from the elements, the association implemented a field initiative in the Mawasi Khan Younis area. This initiative involved renovating and upgrading a number of tents in the 'Ashkelon Camp' after the old ones became unusable.

In partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and in coordination with the Government Operations Room, the association replaced 21 tents that had deteriorated due to weather conditions with entirely new tents designed to prevent rainwater leakage and protect residents from the cold.

This step comes in response to humanitarian appeals as winter approached in 2026. The old tents were severely dilapidated and uninhabitable, threatening the lives of displaced families and exposing their children to harsh conditions.

The association confirmed that this intervention aims to provide a safe and dry shelter environment for the displaced, and to enhance the resilience of families in light of the ongoing displacement crisis, noting the continued coordination with all partner entities to ensure the delivery of relief aid and the development of camp infrastructure in a way that alleviates the suffering of the residents.
