Rehabilitation of emergency shelter and preparation for the winter season

SAFE completed the rehabilitation of 232 partially damaged housing units in Khan Younis Governorate, as part of the "Emergency Shelter Rehabilitation and Winterization Preparation" project, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP/PAPP) and funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, starting on October 15, 2025.

The work included repairing roofs and walls, rehabilitating water and sanitation networks, maintaining doors and windows, insulation work, and rehabilitating kitchens and bathrooms in preparation for winter.

The number of beneficiaries reached 1,200 individuals, 44% of whom are children, in addition to 42 female-headed households and 51 people with disabilities. The grievance and complaints mechanism addressed all 24 complaints received, with an average response time of 4.5 working days.
